While the Enclaves of the the Ark of Nature maintain their dedication to Mielikki, the druids of the Groves feel the pulse of nature directly. Needing no godling to direct their efforts, Grove druids take the care of mother earth into their own hands; while no less protective of their bastions of nature than the Ark druids, Grove druids often leave to interact directly with their surrounding areas and afar, helping wherever they can.
Particularly gifted individuals from the groves often make yearly pilgrimages throughout the Fringe; these Druids use their affinity with nature to heal the lands and fields near the smaller towns and hamlets of the Fringe, providing the earth with additional energy to help withstand the plague of undeath from the Deadlands or demonic corruption from the Char. Without these crusaders of the natural order, the common people of the Fringe would find it much harder to survive; instances where a Grove Druid was waylaid and prevented from ever reaching their goal have resulted in towns dispersing due to drought and famine throughout the next year, leaving a number of ghost towns peppered throughout the Fringe.
Groves are generally named for a predominant type of life they house. Those groves known best for an animal are generally a ‘Grove of …’ while those known for a particular plant are named as ‘… Grove.’
