Northwest of the Valderin’s Gate, near Khuldas Pass into the Char, a pillar of dust rises into the air. At its base you will find several thousand proud, ferocious half-orc barbarians and their campfires. You have stumbled into the path of the roaming tribe of Uruk’har. Untethered by society or towns, this great horde of brutes travels the plains between the Char and the Free Cities, hunting, trading and raiding by turn.
Despite the threat of the demons of the Char on their west and the demons of civilization and soft-living to the east, these barbarians attempt to cling to the nomadic ways of their forefathers. These men and women respect strength, spit upon weakness, and desperately fear change. Not wanting to abandon their traditions, they see their numbers reduced, year after year, as their young either seek the shelter of the cities, or lose themselves in the Char seeking glory. They are a people without a purpose, though the core of their culture remains mighty and unbent.
